Facilitation

Heather facilitates face-to-face and on-line with groups and rural communities, helping them fulfill their potential to bring about positive change in the world.

Heather was trained using the Technology of Participation (ToP™) approach. ToP™ is a powerful collection of facilitation methods and principles that transform the way groups think, talk and work together. ToP™ methods are interactive and engaging with the enduring value of strengthened relationships and mutual learning.

As a facilitator coach and mentor, Heather encourages and supports other facilitators to be the best they can be.

CASE STUDY
Nationwide Farmer Thinkers Group

Doing what she loves: Facilitation, working with farmers, connecting people, thinking outside the box, thinking about the future of farming, researching social change.

Some Sheep & Beef farmers, spread across New Zealand, were looking for a challenge to their thinking and practice.  “What can I do differently? Instead of talking with farmers in my area, how can I learn with other farmers across New Zealand?

Heather’s facilitation of the Nationwide Farmer Thinkers Group is an example of fostering social change through practice, research and learning. Her facilitation enables these forward-thinking sheep & beef farmers to connect with international marketers, scientists, rural professionals, business people and government staff. Using their networks, these farmers then share what they learn with other farmers in their rural communities. Discussions like these, are enabling a change in thinking and understanding at all levels; seeing the world from others’ perspectives; and contributing to a change in practice.

Heather feels privileged to work with this dynamic and inspirational group of farmers, and the many organisations and individuals who continue to support the group on their journey of understanding and positive change.

Heather has been absolutely superb with our Red Meat Profit Partnership group over the last 2 years. She has worked with passion and drive for the good of the group and the group’s goals. She has the uncanny knack of asking the right questions - the ones which make one think analytically through to the ones which have helped steer the group to a solution. We have grown as individuals as well as a group due to Heather’s experience and expertise in connecting the group with relevant people or organisations from within and beyond the farming industry.
I look forward to continuing to work with Heather.
